ADRA Bulgaria Foundation is a non-governmental public benefit organisation, established in 1992 with the aim of providing individual and community development and disaster relief. ADRA — Bulgaria is based in the city of Sofia, but is active throughout the country.
ADRA Bulgaria Foundation also participates in the Bulgarian Platform for International Development (BPID), which is a network structure of non-governmental organisations active in the field of international development cooperation. BPIS members are 23 organisations working on topics related to development education, health, social inclusion issues, environment and sustainability. Since 2010, the BPIS has been accepted as a member of CONCORD, a European Confederation of NGOs for Relief and Development, with 18 international networks and 25 national associations in the EU Member States representing more than 1,600 European NGOs in the European institutions.
The Foundation is part of a worldwide international network of Advent philanthropic organisations for development and assistance ADRA (in English: Adra — ADVENTIST Development and Relief Agency). Adra delivers aid and development to people in more than 130 countries — regardless of their ethnicity, political affiliation or religious religion. The ADRA Bulgaria Foundation is an accredited and certified organization that adheres to European standards for nonprofit entities. It is equipped to manage projects both domestically and internationally and can collaborate effectively with governmental and nongovernmental organizations. Additionally, the foundation specializes in managing volunteers and organizing training programs.
